Bird Feeder Activity

Did you know you can make bird feeders with just a few simple household items? You just need a roll of toilet paper, cover it in peanut butter, sprinkle it with bird feed, and loop a string through it so that it can hang from a tree (or wherever you choose)! Our residents had a lot of fun making these and we can’t wait to see what kind of birds pay them a visit.

Meet Flo and her adorable cat, Gina, from Aspen Trace Assisted Living! Flo has been part of our community for a year, enjoying the perfect balance of privacy and friendship. She cherishes daily lunches with her newfound friends and feels incredibly cared for by our amazing Aspen Trace team! Flo's favorite things about her assisted living experience? The spacious apartments, the joy of having Gina by her side, and the convenience of a washer/dryer right in her own apartment.

Meet our Residential Marketing Director, Myckenzie!

Myckenzie has been our Residential Marketing Director for two years now, getting her start nearly three and a half years ago in activities. In her down time she loves thrifting, traveling, and game nights. She has a passion for serving seniors and enjoys being able to assist them and their families. When asking what drew her to this line of work, she said, “I truly never thought about working in senior living until COVID made the post-college job search pretty hard in 2020. I came across a job listing for an activities assistant here at Aspen Trace and I have since discovered how special this career-field and company is. I am so grateful for the connections I make with my fellow team, residents, and their families every day.”

Indiana Pathways for the Aging

If you are not already aware, we wanted to inform you that as of July 1, 2024, all Indiana individuals who are 60 years of age or older and are receiving traditional Medicaid benefits will be transitioned to managed Medicaid plans called Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS). This includes residents living in both skilled nursing facilities and assisted living waiver apartments.

Three insurance providers have been selected by the state to offer these managed Medicaid Plans: Anthem, Humana and UnitedHealthcare. Indiana Pathways for the Aging will be the provider of the MLTSS.
